Staunton Harold Sailing Club is based on Staunton Harold reservoir about 3 minutes drive from the hotel. As well as sailing, the reservoir has some wonderful country walks and an excellent small exhibition created by Severn Trent Water showing how water is treated before we get to consume it. Directions from the club to the Melbourne View Hotel:
- Come out of the club to the end of the road and turn left towards Melbourne.
- Follow the road into Melbourne going down the hill past a Gulf garage on your left.
- The road bears left, follow it round.
- You want to take the third right hand turn by the Spar (dark green sign) onto Chapel Street.
- Follow this road 1.5 miles through a housing area and out of the village and we are on your right at the top of a hill.
